Catered to Your Taste

By Adrian Spinelli
From wedding planners and locations, to bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen tuxedos, in all of the planning that goes into your special day, don’t overlook the importance of food. Remember your Uncle Jimmy’s wedding? The one catered by your grandma? Fortunately for you, Santa Barbara’s a town with no shortage of quality caterers to do the work for you.

Take the time to meet with prospective catering companies. Country Catering Co. owner Steve Gully says, “People generally know what they want when they come in to meet with me, but there are always questions that bring up aspects that they never thought of.” Things like lengths of linens, number of utensils and overall table setup. Buffet, sit down dinner or style of food? “We make suggestions, but we’re always looking to incorporate the bride and groom’s requests and thoughts first,” says Ursula O’Neill, owner of Catering Connection. It’s also a good idea to scour their menus online, before further discussing ideas with your caterer.

Each catering company will provide their own touch to a wedding, but the most important thing is to choose the one that you are most comfortable with so you never forget the happiest day of your life!
