Girls’ Weekend Out

By Hillary Lansman
Gone are the days of risqué debauchery. Today, a classy weekend in honor of the bride-to-be is possible through the many activities and experiences that are readily available around Santa Barbara.

Just miles from the Santa Ynez wine country, it’s only a short hop, skip and a jump to travel with the girls from winery to winery. The Cloud Climbers Jeep Tours (965-6654) has a special “Cheers to the Bachelorettes: Wine Tasting Excursion,” which stops at four different wineries and includes a picnic lunch at a vineyard.

Spending the evening with the girls at one of the fine restaurants in Santa Barbara? Happy hours and appetizers can be found anywhere from Left at Albuquerque to Chad’s, to more mellow and intimate atmospheres as The Palace or Seville.

After dinner, just step out onto State Street where the local bars allow for a fun-filled night of dancing and celebrating among lively crowds.

Relax the day after an exciting night by being pampered at one of the many day spas in town. Camille The Day Spa, 1115 State Street, boasts many affordable and relaxing spa packages ranging anywhere from one to seven hours. Sea Spa, 1187 Coast Village Road #458, offers group rates for the bridal party as well.

Wherever the weekend takes the bachelorette and her party, anywhere in Santa Barbara is bound to provide the means for a memorable, classy and safe girls’ weekend out.
